thankful for Thanksgiving break

Dave has been super busy with robotics this semester. That and starting a new teaching job at a new school has taken alot of his time. Needless to say, we've really missed him lately. Thanksgiving break was just what we needed to reconnect as a family.

We started the break with a trip to the zoo. It's a small, local zoo. It was our first time to go and we had a blast. We actually got to feed a giraffe which was easliy the coolest thing I've done in a long time. It's about a mile to walk through the entire zoo and there were only about 10 other families that we saw. When we left the zoo there was a park across the parking lot where we had lunch and played. All in all...a fabulous day. Be sure to check out Ruby's zoo-appropriate outfit.

Thanksgiving morning we went to the Turkey Trot. It's been a tradition in my family since 1999 and Dave and my bro-in-law joined the tradition when they joined the family. It was chilly but so much fun.

 Maggie's first Turkey Trot!

Hi, Dave! Go Steelers!!!         Hey, Eddo!

And we're off! There were so many people, it took us 30+ minutes to cross the starting line.

Zoey got a little bored with the fast pace. Poor thing. It was too crowded to see anything at first.

Between my sister and myself we have 5 kiddos. We're quite a site rolling 5-wide down the streets of Dallas. Thanks, Mom, for pushing a stroller.

 Post race pics...the whole fam!
